顺产究竟有多疼？在知乎的这个问题下，回答的大部分为亲历者，她们把这种“无加持、徒手顺产”的分娩痛形容作“断了十二根肋骨的疼痛”、“小腹曲线型爆炸疼”，以及“被人用大锤抡小腹，抡了八小时”……在医学疼痛指数上，产痛仅次于烧伤灼痛，排在第二位。

国际专业分娩摄影师协会（The International Association of Professional Birth Photographers）的官网上，呈现在观者眼前的每一幅作品，都记录着母亲的伟大。
